CEO - Chief Executive Officer

Michelle Phaneuf

I was raised on my family ranch in Montana where I developed my deep love and respect for animals.  I was very lucky to grow up in a life completely filled with animals. I don't remember a time I didn't have a horse waiting for me in the barn, a dog walking beside me and a cat to fall asleep with. From a very early age, I had a strong connection to horses and trained my first horse at the age of 8 to the surprise of my Grandfather.  From that time on, I became a horse trainer and have dedicated my life to understanding and training horses.  As a trainer, I specialized in hard to train or "dangerous" horses. I was their last stop, their last chance. The next step in my journey led to starting a horse rescue and eventually an animal sanctuary.

Christa Wilcox

Secretary

I am a Supply Specialist during my day job but my main title is Dog Mom, Cat Herder and Professional Chicken Wrangler.  I have been a supporter of the Sanctuary for over 10 years.  My happy place is riding the trails on the back of a horse and working with all the animals at the Sanctuary.

Blake Grimwood

Trustee

I am a professional truck driver and animal lover. My first trip to the Sanctuary was with a friend who was interested in adopting a horse. I have been volunteering at the ranch ever since! In the years that followed, I adopted 2 horses from the Sancturary and help with everything from hauling horses and hay to fixing fence and building barns. There is never a boring day at the ranch. I especially like hitting the trails on my horse, Neva.

Daphne Shumate
